Pan Browned Brussels Sprouts

2 T butter
2 T olive oil
salt and pepper
2 cups brussels sprouts, ends trimmed and halved through the core
1/4 cup water
opt: fresh grated parmesan cheese, squeeze of lemon juice

Heat oil and butter in saute pan.
Place brussels sprouts flat side down in oil butter, cover and saute over medium heat until bottoms are golden brown, about 8 minutes.
Add water, cook until evaporated and brussels sprouts are tender.
Adjust seasoning, toss with lemon juice and parmesan cheese, if desired.
