Baked beans from canned white beans (updated 2/27/20)

3-4 pieces bacon, depending on thickness
1 med onion, chopped
2 15-ounce cans white beans
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1 T cider vinegar
1 tsp dijon mustard
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste

Place bacon in dutch oven and cook over medium heat until the fat renders and the bacon is almost crisp, about 8 minutes.
Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 5 minutes.
Add 1 can of beans with liquid. Drain and rinse the remaining can of beans, add to the pan.
Add the tomato sauce, sugar, molasses, vinegar, mustard, worcestershire and salt. Bring to a low simmer.
Place in preheated 350 oven and bake uncovered until thickened and bubbly, about 50-60 minutes. Add small amounts of water if getting too dry.

Makes 4-6 servings.
