Spinach Mashed Potatoes

4 large or 6 medium potatoes
2 cloves garlic, halved or 5-6 scallions, sliced
4 T butter
1/2 cup milk or sour cream (more or less if needed)
1/2 (10oz) pkg frozen spinach, cooked and drained
salt and pepper, to taste

Peel and cut potatoes into chunks, place in saucepan with garlic and/or scallion. Barely cover with water.
Boil for about 15-20 minutes, or until potatoes are tender, drain.
Add butter, milk, salt and pepper to potatoes and garlic in pan. Let sit while butter melts and milk warms up. Mash with a potato masher or hand mixer.
Stir in spinach, season to taste.
