2 1/2 pounds russet potatoes, thinly sliced
1/2 cup cream
1-2 cups milk, as needed
1 small onion, sliced
1 garlic clove , halved
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup cheese (parmesan, cheddar, swiss or combo)

Place potatoes and onions in saucepan, add cream and enough milk to barely cover. Add garlic halves.
Bring potatoes and cream/milk to a boil, simmer for about 8-10 minutes until sauce is slightly thickened.
Remove garlic, season with salt.
Toss cheese with flour, stir into potatoes. Pour into sprayed or greased casserole dish.
Bake at 375 for about an hour, or until browned on top. Remove from oven and let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
