Sausage Stuffed Bread

1 pound loose pork sausage
1 med onion, chopped
1 med green pepper, chopped
1 clove garlic. minced
4 oz cream cheese, cubed
1/2 to 1 tsp red pepper flakes, or to taste
salt and pepper to taste
1 pound bread dough
1 egg yolk, beaten with a little water (1 tsp)
Cook sausage, onion, green pepper and garlic in skillet until meat is cooked through and veggies are tender. Skim off fat, if needed.
Add cream cheese cubes, let sit until softened and stir into mixture until melted and smooth.
Add red pepper flakes and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Set aside and let cool slightly.
On greased baking sheet spread bread dough into rectangle, about 15x10 inches.
Spoon sausage filling down middle of dough, leaving about 3 inches on sides and 1 inch on ends.
Cut sides into 1 inch strips. Alternately bring strips up over filling, overlapping to form a "braid". Pinch dough closed on ends if needed.
Brush dough with egg wash.
Bake at 375 for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
