Funny Cake Pie
Top Part:
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Cream together sugar and butter, beat in egg. To creamed mixture, add combined milk and vanilla alternately with dry ingredients that have been whisked together. Set aside until lower part is mixed.
Lower Part:
4 T cocoa
1/2 cup sugar
6 T warm water
1/4 tsp. vanilla
Unbaked 9" pie crust
Mix together the cocoa, sugar, water, and vanilla. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Over this, pour the top part. The chocolate will come up around the outside edge. Bake 350 for 45 - 50 minutes or until firm.
