Cranberry Orange White Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

1/2 cup (1 stick) plus 6 T unsalted butter, room temperature
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
zest of one orange
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups old fashioned oats
3/4 cups dried cranberries
3/4 cup white chocolate chips

Cream butter and sugars, beat in eggs, vanilla and orange zest.
In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. Slowly stir in to creamed mixture. Stir in oats, cranberries and white chips.
Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes or until light golden brown. Allow to cool on cookie sheets for 5 minutes, and then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
