Brownies (updated 6/6/25)

3/4 cup flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/3 cup oil
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt
opt: 1/2 cup chocolate chips, 1/2 cup nuts

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and cocoa powder.
In a separate bowl, whisk or mix the sugar, eggs, oil, vanilla, and salt until creamy and emulsified.
Add the flour-cocoa blend to the wet ingredients and mix just until combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips and/or nuts, if using
Spread the batter into 8x8 baking pan that has been lined with parchment paper with overhang on sides for easy removal.
Bake the brownies at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or mostly clean.
Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10 minutes or so, then remove them to a cutting board to cool completely. Cut into squares
