Chicken Broccoli Stuffed Bread
2 cups (about 12 oz) cooked chicken, shredded
1 cup broccoli, chopped
1/4 cup scallions or shallots, sliced
1 cup (4 oz) Cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 tsp salt, or to taste
1 pound bread dough
1 egg, beaten with a little water (1 T)
On greased baking sheet spread bread dough into rectangle, about 15x10 inches.
Combine chicken, broccoli, scallions/shallots and cheese in bowl. Stir in mayonnaise and salt.
Layer filling down middle of dough, leaving about 3 inches on sides and 1 inch on ends.
Cut sides into 1 inch strips. Alternately bring strips up over filling, overlapping to form a "braid". Pinch dough closed on ends if needed.
Brush dough with egg wash.
Bake at 375 for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
