Ring of Black Bottom Cake

In small bowl, beat and set aside:
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
8 ounces cream cheese
1 egg
12 oz chocolate chips (reserve 1/4 cup)
In larger bowl, mix:
2 cups sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
3 cups flour
3/4 cup cocoa
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
1 cup hot water
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Pour half of the batter into a greased bundt pan. Spoon cream cheese mixture evenly in the middle of the batter. Top with remaining batter. Bake at 350F for 75-90 minutes, or until done. Cool, top with chocolate glaze or frosting.
