Fruit Kuchen

1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract

Fruit topping:
4 med apples, plums, peaches
2 T soft butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon or nutmeg
2 T flour

Whisk together dry ingredients. Cut in butter.
Stir together milk, egg and vanilla, add to crumb mixture. Turn dough into a 9x13 baking pan.
Peel fruit if desired, core and cut into thin slices, arrange over batter.
Combine the remaining topping ingredients. Sprinkle over the fruit and bake at 375 for 35-45 minutes until golden brown.
