Scones

2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
6 T cold butter, cut in small cubes
1 cup heavy cream
3/4 cup fresh or dried fruit, nuts or chocolate pieces
extra cream and sugar

Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Use pastry blender or your fingers to blend in butter until it resembles a course meal.
Add cream and stir-ins to dry ingredients. Mix lightly with fork or your hands until mixture forms a stiff dough.
Gently knead on floured board until dough comes together.
Roll into 7-inch round and cut into 8 wedges. Place 1 inch apart on greased or parchment lined baking sheet; brush tops with cream and sprinkle with sugar.
Bake at 425 for 15 to 18 minutes.
