Garlic Bread - easy

butter, softened
olive oil
garlic salt
italian or french bread slices

Arrange bread slices on toaster oven baking pan.
Drizzle with olive oil then spread with butter.
Sprinkle with garlic salt and toast until golden brown.


Garlic bread - Alton Brown

1 narrow Italian or French loaf of bread
1 head garlic, cut in 1/2 crosswise
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
Kosher salt and pepper

Preheat oven on broiler setting. Place a rack approximately 6 inches from broiler.
Slice the loaf of bread, on the bias, into 3/4-inch slices. Place bread in oven on sheet pan and broil until golden brown on both sides, approximately 2 minutes for the first side and 1 to 1 1/2 for second side. Remove to a platter and rub each slice of bread with the garlic and then brush with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and serve immediately.


Garlic Bread - fresh garlic butter

1 stick unsalted butter
6 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 tablespoons chopped fresh Italian parsley
Salt and freshly ground pepper
1 loaf Italian or French bread, sliced 3/4 of the way through into 1/2-inch thick slices

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the garlic and let cook for 5 minutes. Stir in the parsley and season with salt and pepper. Brush each slice of the bread with the melted garlic butter. Wrap the loaf of bread in foil and bake in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes, or until heated through.
