Philadelphia Hoagie
Giant Hoagie Whole - Layers - Sliced
Source: From the best of my memory, hoagies like we used to get in Philly.

2 long Italian Rolls

lettuce, finely shredded or chopped
onion, thinly sliced
tomatoes, thinly sliced
opt: hot peppers, sliced thin

2 T light olive oil or salad oil
1 T red wine vinegar
oregano
salt and pepper

salami
cappy ham
regular deli ham
provolone cheese

Cut rolls in half lengthwise, leaving slightly attached.
Opt: spread mayo on both sides, sprinkle with oregano
Layer meats and cheese on bottom half of roll, slightly overlapping the center where sides of roll are attached
Layer lettuce, onion, tomatoes and hot peppers on top half of roll, drizzle with oil, wine vinegar, oregano, salt and pepper.
Fold roll in half
