Guacamole

2 ripe avocados
juice of 1 small lime
1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 small tomato, diced
1/4 tsp salt, or to taste
few grinds of freshly ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
optional - minced jalapeno to taste

Halve avocados, remove pit and scoop out flesh. Mash with a fork, I like to leave it a bit chunky.
Mix in remaining ingredients.
Cover and refrigerate 1 hour before serving.
